A Cajun Christmas

Maya Torres is a globe-trotting travel blogger who specializes in finding the perfect white Christmas destinations—New York, Switzerland, the Austrian Alps, you name it. Snow and twinkling lights have become her trademark, so she’s more than a little reluctant when her grandmother, who raised her, asks her to come back to Shreveport, Louisiana, for the holidays to help with the town’s annual Cajun Christmas Festival. It’s hard to say no to her grandma, especially since she’s been hinting she may not be up to hosting much longer.

The small-town holiday scene, filled with bayou boat parades, gumbo cook-offs, and jazzed-up Christmas lights, is a far cry from Maya’s typical snowy backdrops. And to add to her surprise, the festival’s planning committee has recruited her former college sweetheart, Rhett “Big Shot” Beauregard, a hometown football hero turned high school coach. Maya hasn’t seen Rhett since he left her for a college scholarship in Texas, and she has no interest in rekindling old flames—especially with someone who represents the very hometown she once couldn’t wait to escape.

But as Maya and Rhett work to put together the most magical Cajun Christmas Festival yet, she finds herself charmed by Shreveport’s unique holiday spirit. Late-night beignet runs, porch decorating contests, and riverside carol sing-alongs create sparks that neither can deny. Rhett shows Maya a softer side she’d long forgotten, revealing why he made the choices he did. Soon, Maya starts to see the beauty in her roots, even if it doesn’t have snow-dusted rooftops.

Just when Maya begins to imagine a future back in Shreveport, she’s offered an incredible opportunity to travel to Norway for a Christmas special. Will she chase her wanderlust, or finally make a home with the one who never stopped caring?
